Even though there are tools available to nurse practitioners to use to identify a health issue or concern, the assessments are not included in the records of the clinical visit (Nittas, 2019). Consequently, a missed opportunity to improve healthcare quality is experienced because the data may not be utilized in preparing future cases, for example, by means of prevention. The documentation of clinical visits can be of assistance in the distribution of resources required for the reinforcement of prevention strategies, the provision of education to victims, and the provision of post-visit guidance.

What issue is the question/topic addressing?

This proposal aims to enhance the recording of clinical visit outcomes through accessible assessment tools to increase the resources available for education, thus improving patient service and ultimately leading to better health outcomes. The evaluation tools and resources would be fashioned after the most recent guidelines and practices that have been proven beneficial to patients' health to ensure optimal assessment of the patients and ultimately better-achieved results. The collected data must be precisely recorded and archived for future planning and decision-making through data science.

What are the reasons you selected this question/topic?

The selection of this topic can be attributed to the alarming rise in the prevalence of mental diseases across the world, which has gotten the focus of health officials involved in the fight against the epidemic. According to a report that the WHO distributed, at least 970 million people, or at least 1 out of each eight people, suffer mental disorders (Who.int., 2022). Consequently, mental health professionals are increasingly turning to data science, which is the application of collected data in diagnosing, treating, and even event-based prevention of mental health problems (McIntosh et al., 2016).
