New inventions still linger in today`s world; the world is changing daily in many sectors.
In healthcare, new inventions and intensive study are common and necessary due to climatic
changes in this technological era. Take a tour through this research and comprehend how US
healthcare has improved as informatics has gradually grown into a discipline of study.
Health informatics originates from the term information, a knowledge bank on health
matters. It is an interdisciplinary system that includes collecting health data, processing it,
reporting, and presenting it for the necessary health benefits. It also integrates other scientific
fields like computer science, health sciences, information science, public health, psychology of
learning, and sociology, among other relatable fields. The main aim of the system is to help
improve the health of everyone in general. A notable strength of health informatics is that it is a
notch higher since its introduction as a discipline; it is no different from established fields like
medicine, nursing, public health, pharmacy, and psychology. The field has subjects that are
called units of study. They include; practicing evidence-based medicine, delivering patient-
centered care, working as part of a disciplinary team, focusing on quality health improvement,
and how to use informatics in healthcare. The units lie in a single docket of health informatics.
The journey of spreading the field into the world is streaming in fast; health professors are
making many efforts to grow this discipline. There has been a recent approach where the
discipline has been integrated into the American Association of College of Nursing and made
part of the Essentials Series (Nelson & Staggers, 2018).
Healthcare has advanced to the extent that care providers are accountable in their field
and are aggressive to stop at nothing but the best for their patients. The American medical
association is the mother of improved healthcare by emphasizing quality health provision.

Informatics should be included in schools since there is a clear understanding of how healthcare
information is stored and managed. The best performing doctors and health practitioners ought to
possess skills and knowledge on how healthcare is retrieved and managed. Additionally, the
knowledge on strategizing improved patient-centered strategy is necessary. We live in a society
that is dominated by technology. We can never assume the fact that healthcare is trending along
with the beast, which is why all Tom, Dick, and Harry should embrace technology and hold it
tightly for a better tomorrow. ICT is transforming the healthcare system bit by bit for improved
knowledge required by health professionals” (Gibson et al., 2015).
Many strengths are attached to healthcare advancement, as mentioned above. However,
the Bible states that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. In NIV, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
states, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom
you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore,
honor God with your bodies.” (Greig, 2017). Healthcare informatics entails using health
supplements to treat and boost our health. It is not necessary as God is the healer of these bodies.
The bodies should be respected and untampered with. In addition, people are not well versed
with healthcare informatics as a discipline since it is new and developing. It requires some time
to be fully rooted and integrated into the academic system.
In conclusion, health care provision was a great invention, and its impact is positively felt
worldwide. Healthcare informatics is vital for people`s well-being since knowledge and skills are
passed. However, some of its practices are not per my belief as a Christian. Based on the Bible’s
argument, the human body should not seek medical attention but remain by faith.
