In mental health patients with depression, how effective is the application of aerobic exercise compared to the non-application of aerobic exercise in easing depression during the recovery period?
The topic is mental health, where the research needs to investigate the relationship between mental health and engagement in aerobic exercise, to observe whether this would ease depression in patients. Aerobic exercise is a physical activity that helps burn calories, mount muscle mass and strength, and improve cardiovascular health. The activity also decreases anxiety and stress, which can be essential for depressed mental health patients (Shaphe & Chahal, 2020). Aerobic exercise has been observed to help individuals with depression to upsurge their mental health statuses, mainly by lowering their depressive symptoms and increasing happiness feelings. Researchers explain that aerobic exercise stimulates the brain's reward system, thus, allowing the release of dopamine to the system (Zhao et al., 2020). Dopamine is accountable for generating positive feelings like motivation or happiness.
The question is crucial as it will help to investigate the rate at which the application of aerobic exercises assists people with mental health conditions to decrease their depression rate.
