Topic Suggestion
The topic to be investigated requires that it is under hormonal therapy. At the same time, the PICOT question seeks to answer compliance or noncompliance with a hormonal regimen. The population cannot be specific since it has to be for patients seeking hormonal treatment. However, the monotonicity of the topic has to be eliminated while sticking to a hormonal regimen.
After pointing out the issue of lack of commitment to finishing the regiment, this implies many patients are superstitious about the hormonal treatment, which could result from a lack of information. A better understanding of treatment would lead to compliance with the regimen. Hence, the culture of ancient information concerning contraceptives would be the issue. According to (Skovlund et al., 2018), an experiment was done by researchers in Belgium to investigate the relationship between suicide and suicide attempts amongst the users of hormonal contraception. The results showed a correlation between suicide and suicide attempts in women who took contraceptives, and it was adverse in adolescent women. It was concluded by the study that the cause was adverse mood reactions that resulted from the contraception.
According to findings, there could be fear development amongst women to use clinical contraception and opt for non-hormonal contraception after witnessing such. It is, therefore, a duty of care practitioners to investigate the lack of information concerning hormonal contraception. The PICOT question would be; Amongst patients with hormonal disorders, does compliance with hormone replacement therapy treatment and follow-up appointments compared to non-hormone therapy decrease symptoms related to perimenopause and menopause?
This perspective would expand the population where the research focuses not only on menopause patients but also on women who use contraceptives. It will open the investigation to hormonal disorders and compare the results after hormonal versus non-hormonal therapy administration.
